![]() For a minimalist look, you can add light wood floors too. You can also have a white wall as a canvas for any vibrant artwork or make it a textured white-painted brick wall. You can place rugs and throw white pillows. Using this color, your room can quickly take on a Scandinavian, modern, classic, or minimalist aesthetic. This color can brighten up a dark grey couch and make it the center of attention in your living space. ![]() White is the most versatile color that is best matched with grey sofa. Read on and find the best color combination with charcoal gray couch. The perfect accent colors will beautify and enhance the look of your couch. Even if this color is neutral, some hues may make the couch appear excessively dark or too plain. (The color works well with the purple accent wall and joins up nicely to the chocolate brown dining room.) We also know we need new carpet/flooring, but don't know what to pick-we would need help with color, style, pattern, etc.Since a charcoal grey color is a dramatic shade of grey, which is a neutral color, they blend well with various interior home decor.Īpart from that, sofas like this are striking and appealing to the sight.īut it’s crucial that you pick complementary hues that go well with it. :) Also, we kind of like the green/grey color of the walls, but are open to change too. So, something easy to clean with a pattern or something to hide "oops" moments? White/light furniture I don't think will be our friend. While we don't eat in the living room, my 5 year old has been known to have peanut butter, chocolate, yogurt, you name it on his clothes that then gets transferred to the furniture when he sits on it. The room is kind of narrow, but long so I never knew what furniture to choose or how to best arrange the furniture to see the TV. I have been leaning towards a non-sectional couch with multiple chairs or a love seat, but I am open to whatever. I would prefer a couch without a "pillow" back that I can just add some throw pillows. ![]() Our couch now is a large sectional, which isn't bad, but sags in the places everyone repeatedly sits and I don't like the "pillow" back because the boys constantly take the pillows off the couch/rearrange them so you end up sitting against the hard wood back. We don't have pets now (we had 2 cats that passed), but plan in the future (next few years) to get a cat and a dog. We often use the fan, but are open to replacing/changing out, etc and in general feel we could use more lighting in the area. We want to leave the baseboards and windows as wood, would prefer not to paint them. My husband is going to get rid of all his speakers and replace them with a small sound bar, so that space will be free to use. Also, if you look at our current space since we don't have a designing bone in our body we have never put pictures, shelves, curtains, or anything up because we just never knew what to do, so we never did anything. We both work full time and would not do well with lots of knick-knacks/shelving with small spaces that needs lots of attention for dusting or would break easily with an errant thrown pillow, ball, etc. (When choosing the opening picture we struggled because we liked pieces from each picture, but almost none of them as a whole). Our taste is kind of eclectic-we like traditional, contemporary, and quirky pieces. We have wanted to do this for awhile, but were finally motivated because our favorite Lane recliner that is about 18 years old recently broke. My husband is 350 lbs and I am about 200, and we have 2 very active little boys (5 and 7) who have been know to hang upside down on the couch, chairs, have pillow fights with throw pillows, etc, so dainty furniture would not last in our home. We would like stylish, but sturdy furniture. ![]() We would like to redesign our living room, top to bottom.
